Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How will this affect you? Not only could you notice a decrease to your heating and cooling charges, you will help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and made-to-order for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our large variety of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who can give you a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To speed up the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the project and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad variety of high-grade products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, providing you with a chance to make the renovations you want to while building great value into your Hanover area home while you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning solution or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they could produce streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. They must complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We look for the best Hanover-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and professional Pella installers means that your project will have the strength of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Hanover homeowners pick Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. Each of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with care and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike most other window and door companies who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers throughout North America. This unique way of operating our business gives the homeowners in Hanover a convenient and personal experience with the support of a local to Hanover, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
